Want to go faster???

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

We spend so much time and money on the vehicles from upgrading the suspension to upping the horsepower. We buy these tall spoilers that give us more downforce so we can just take that corner an extra bit faster or in some cases to look like we can. We buy bigger brakes in order to save those tenths of a second. We strip our cars of any excessive weight and replace any heavy items with lighter more exotic items. Essentially we spend big bucks to go faster. One major item that is overlooked by the guys that frequently hit the track is a “Data Logger”. A data basic job is to record lap times, it can also break down the lap into sectors, record entry speeds and exit speeds, record top speed, your breaking and etc etc. It is one of the most powerful tools in going faster. Go look around in any professional racing series and you will see drivers looking over the data after the race and comparing it to fellow drivers. The “Data Logger” can be an amazing tool in making us more consistent, faster drivers. So next time you are thinking of ways to make yourself faster consider a “Data Logger” if you haven’t already. You can purchase a “Data Logger” from Racepak, AIM, Motec and many other respectable brands.

IT’S BACK!!!

Due to high demand the GR-2 black with anodized red lip is coming back. They come only in 16inch in 4×100/4×114.3 with 42 offset. These wheels are hot. They remind me of the old school JDM Black Racing colour setup. They are limited to just 10 sets. We expect them sometime in March. If you are looking for a set shoot us an email with your location and well give you information to your nearest GP Dealer.

Purple Really???

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I was never really big fan of the purple color fad but once I saw how nice the new *limited* edition GP Racing LCA SF Edition came out in Anodized Purple it forever changed my mind. Respect to our boys in Winnipeg for such nice pieces of art. They are available for 92-95 Civic, 94-01 Integra non type r and 96-00 Civic.

Too Much Time On Our Hands…

Monday, January 25th, 2010

What happens when you have too much time and a camera and a nice car parked outside? Our buddies from N4E1 had this exact same thing happen to them and voila they made this video. Check out there website at www.n4e1.com for some serious gear.

Buuuurrrrrr…It is cold outside!!!

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Don’t get me wrong, Canada is probably the greatest place on earth to live in. We really only have two seasons in Canada, winter and July. It makes feel sad because due to the cold weather we can’t be tracking our cars or racing this time of the year. It does give us sometime to work on our projects so that they can run harder or look better for next season.

I hope these pictures from last years racing season get you back in the mood. See you on the track in a few months!

MACAU GUIA CIRCUIT!!!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Imagine going into a corner at 200KM/H and exiting as near to the wall as possible. Worse yet the corner is blind. Now imagine corner after corner of blind corners, going uphill, downhill and through corners so tight that you have to be in 1st gear! Forget Monaco with the prestige, it’s all about Macau. Home to the world’s toughest street course and highest racing car crash count (not including Nascar).

Here are two videos of the Macau Guia Circuit lap with race car driver Matthew Marsh. The guy is one serious enthusiast I hope to one day race against in Macau.

Behind The Scenes!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Here are some behind the scene shots of two sponsored race cars we have been working with. One is the CSX Type S with a K24 running in the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Super Touring. The other is Civic Si with a k20 running in Touring Class. You will be seeing these two cars racing at Mosport, Icar, Trois Rivieres and even the Toronto Indy. Specs of the vehicles will be posted in the near future as the K24 is going in for some new headwork. Check back soon!

THE BIGGEST K-SERIES THROTTLE BODY YOU CAN BUY!!!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

74mm K-Series Throttle Body

Skunk2 is proud to introduce its 74mm Pro Series Throttle Body for Honda’s K-series engines—the biggest K-series throttle body you can buy. Skunk2’s Pro Series Throttle Bodies are designed to be used with OEM Acura RSX (PRB) or Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifolds for bolt-on horsepower and torque gains by optimizing engine airflow (other applications, including ’06+ Civic Si RBC manifolds, require adapter plate).

Skunk2 throttle bodies undergo an extensive design and testing process to produce a unit that doesn’t just provide more flow, but retains smooth drivability and OEM throttle characteristics. Skunk2 Pro-Series Throttle Bodies are designed using the latest CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) tools to produce a unit that exceeds industry standards. Each Pro-Series Throttle Body is CNC-machined from forged, billet 6061-T6 aluminum and hard anodized for durability in Skunk2’s signature Black Series finish. Additionally, Skunk2’s unique K-series throttle pulley design allows for smooth movement and pedal modulation, and the OEM coolant hoses have been eliminated for cooler operation.

A larger throttle body is key to producing additional power throughout the powerband on modified engines with increased airflow demands. Skunk2’s Pro Series Throttle Bodies for K-series engines feature a 74mm bore, which results in significant horsepower gains throughout the powerband on naturally aspirated applications and even more on forced induction ones.

FEATURES:
Large 74mm Bore
Compatible With OEM Throttle Cable
CNC-Forged 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum Construction
Sealed Bearings For Smooth Operation
Durable, Corrosion-Resistant Hard-Anodized Finish
Eliminates OEM Water lines For Cooler Operation
Integrated Skunk2 Badge
